Bushmills 21 Year Old is an Irish single malt from the Old Bushmills Distillery in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, bottled at 40% ABV. It is made from 100% malted barley and triple distilled.
The whiskey spent at least 21 years in seasoned oak, including ex-bourbon barrels, Spanish Oloroso sherry butts and port casks, followed by a finishing period in select casks.
The nose brings dried apricot and pear, orange zest and honey, with spiced oak and a little dark chocolate. On the palate there is caramel, roasted nuts and fig compote alongside cinnamon, and the finish is long, with dark fruit, sweet spice and toasted oak.
