Bushmills 25 Year Old is a limited-release Irish single malt, triple-distilled from 100% malted barley and bottled at 46% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is non-chill-filtered.
The spirit was filled into bourbon barrels and sherry butts on 22 November 1995. On 25 October 2001 it was re-casked into 27 first-fill ruby port pipes, where it spent 21 years.
The nose is light caramel, orchard fruit, citrusy oak and dark chocolate, with buttery almonds and molasses. The palate runs from almonds to caramelised cherries, plums and blackberries, with walnuts and leather. The finish is long and velvety, with dark cherry, chocolate and a spice note at the end.
