Bushmills Black Bush is a blended Irish whiskey from the Old Bushmills Distillery in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, bottled at 40% ABV.
It is triple distilled in copper stills and made with a high proportion of malt whiskey. Maturation centres on former Oloroso sherry casks, which bring fruit and nut sweetness.
The nose is typically described as dried apricot, baked apple, honeyed malt and toasted oak, with almond and honeycomb. The palate is soft, with dried fruit, caramel, light vanilla, fruitcake and toffee. The finish is clean and lingering, with butterscotch, soft orchard fruit and a faint nutty spice.
