Bushmills Black Bush is a triple-distilled blended Irish whiskey from the Old Bushmills Distillery in County Antrim, bottled at 40% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
The blend is 80% malt whiskey, made from malted barley in copper pot stills, with 20% lighter grain whiskey. The malt component matures for up to eight years in ex-Oloroso sherry casks.
The nose has warmed raisins, brown sugar, oatmeal cookies, orange, cinnamon and hazelnuts. The palate brings raisins, figs, dates, caramel, honey and dark chocolate, with winter spice and marzipan. The finish is soft and sweet, with sherry-cask spice and a trace of dark chocolate.
