Bushmills Original is a triple-distilled blended Irish whiskey from the Old Bushmills Distillery in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. This is a 1.75L bottle at 40% ABV.
The blend is 45% malt whiskey and 55% grain whiskey, a recipe the distillery says has not changed since 1888. It is matured for a minimum of three years in ex-bourbon barrels and Spanish Oloroso sherry casks.
The nose is light, with white grape, green apple, vanilla and crème brûlée. The palate is soft and slightly creamy, with milk chocolate, pear and gentle cinnamon-like spice, and the finish is clean, with honey and malt.
