Bushmills 12 Year is a triple-distilled Irish single malt, bottled at 40% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It is made at Old Bushmills Distillery in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, from unpeated malted barley.
The whiskey is matured for a minimum of 11 years in Oloroso sherry butts and bourbon barrels, then finished for six to nine months in Marsala wine casks from Sicily.
The nose is plum and damson jam with clove, peppercorn and citrus peel. On the palate come honey, date loaf and fig, then chocolate orange and butterscotch, with black tea and walnut. The finish is medium to long, with runny honey, dried apple and candied nuts.
