Busnel Calvados Pays d'Auge Hors d'Age 12 Year Old (75cl, 40%)

This is an apple brandy from Busnel, a Calvados Pays d'Auge Hors d'Age aged for a minimum of 12 years in oak. Busnel draws on a tradition handed down since 1820. Its Calvados is built from more than 20 apple varieties grown in the Pays d'Auge, where varied soils of sand, silt, clay and chalk produce bitter, bittersweet, sweet and sour apples. Long ageing in oak brings depth and concentration. The nose is concentrated oak, baked apple, dried red fruit and cocoa. The palate is full-bodied and oily, with raisin, chocolate, quince and coffee alongside warm spice. The finish is long, buttery and fruity.
