Cadenhead Mannochmore 12 Years Old (70cl, 60.4%)

This is a Mannochmore single malt aged 12 years, bottled by William Cadenhead at a cask strength of 60.4% in a 70cl bottle. Mannochmore is a Speyside distillery near Elgin, and Cadenhead describes itself as Scotland's oldest independent bottler. The whisky is typically matured in bourbon hogsheads. It has a pale straw colour, a medium body and a clean, oily texture. The nose brings parma violet sweets, bourbon cream biscuits and floral freshness. On the palate come kiwi fruit, gooseberries and treacle toffee with a touch of balsa wood, and the long finish carries white pepper, oregano and dried grass.
