A single cask Mannochmore from Speyside, aged 10 years and finished in an ex-rye whiskey octave, bottled for the Scotch Drinkers Only range. It was bottled at a natural cask strength of 58.7% ABV in a 70cl bottle, from an outturn of 66 bottles, and is natural colour and non-chill filtered.
The rye-seasoned octave brings spice, herbal notes and sweet oak to the clean, fruit-driven spirit.
The nose combines green apple, ripe pear, vanilla bean and heather honey with black pepper and cinnamon bark. On the palate it is silky and full-bodied, with caramel, baked orchard fruit, rye bread and clove, and the finish is long, warming and gently drying with baking spice and vanilla.
