This is a 50 year old single grain whisky from Caledonian, the Edinburgh distillery that has since closed. Signatory Vintage bottled it from a single hogshead at 52.6% ABV, in a 70cl bottle supplied in a metal tin.
The spirit was distilled on 10 April 1976 and bottled in 2026 for the 50th anniversary of Kirsch Import. The cask gave 213 bottles for the Cask Strength Collection, and the whisky is non-chill-filtered with no added colour.
Vanilla and caramel meet beeswax on the nose. The palate is creamy and full, with baked grain, toffee and wood, and the finish is long and dry with oak and fine herbs.
