Canadian Club – Chronicles 43 Year Old

This is a 43 year old Canadian whisky from Canadian Club, made at its Ontario distillery. It is the third release in the Chronicles Series, nicknamed The Speakeasy as a nod to the whisky's part in Prohibition-era history. It is a limited edition. The whisky was batched and barrelled in 1977. It is golden honey in colour. The nose is toasted oak with brown sugar, dried fruit, berries, vanilla and rich leather. On the palate come nutmeg, light hay, molasses, beeswax, dried blueberry, clove and white pepper, with a little sweetness and dried fruit. The finish is warm and lingering, with sweet oak.
