Caol Ila Ambrosial Feast is an 11 year old Islay single malt, part of the 2024 Diageo Special Releases and bottled at 57.3% ABV. It is unpeated, which is unusual for the distillery.
The whisky spent its eleven years in refill and rejuvenated wine casks, which give it caramel and fruit character.
The nose is nutty and spiced, with roasted notes, a touch of coffee, milk chocolate and soft fruit. On the palate it is rich and complex: burnt caramel almonds, roasted coffee beans, ripe sweet fruit and a little black pepper, with only the faintest hint of peat smoke. The finish is long, with nutty roasted notes and a dry spice.
