This is an 11 year old Caol Ila distilled in 2013 and bottled by Decadent Drinks at 48.5% ABV. It is the autumn 2024 release in the Equinox & Solstice series, matured in a second-fill oloroso sherry hogshead.
The nose offers smoky bacon and struck flint with white pepper and a little stewed orchard fruit. The palate is bold but composed, with earthy peat and warm spice, leading to a long, dry finish with a subtle maritime saltiness.
