Caol Ila 12 Year Old is an Islay single malt Scotch whisky, made from 100% malted barley and matured in ex-bourbon casks. It is bottled at 43%.
The whisky is straw-coloured, with a firm peaty backbone and lighter fruit notes running beneath it.
On the nose it is restrained, with citrus fruit and a hint of bath oil and dental mouthwash. The palate opens sweet and moves into a gently fragrant smoke, leading to a long finish.
