Caol Ila 12 Year Old is an Islay single malt matured for twelve years in ex-bourbon casks, in a 70cl bottle at 43% vol. It is the distillery's classic expression, smoky and peaty, with a softer side of citrus fruit and a sweet streak. The maritime climate adds to its aroma, and the whisky is gold in colour.
The nose is smoky and maritime, with a little peppermint. The palate is spicy and smoky, with a touch of vanilla. The finish is long, with sweet smoke.
