This is a 12-year-old Caol Ila single malt from Islay, bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is part of the Classic Malts of Scotland.
The name is Gaelic and means Sound of Islay. The distillery lies on a bay near Port Askaig and is the largest on the island. It made a 3.5 million investment in 2011 to raise its capacity again, and produces both peated and unpeated malts.
This is an Islay malt in spite of its initial sweetness.
