This Caol Ila 13 Year Old is a single malt distilled in 2007 and bottled at 54.3% in a 70cl bottle. It matured in a single hogshead, which gave 276 bottles, as part of the Single Cask Collection.
The character is savoury, coastal and smoky, with a hint of citrus and tropical fruit. The nose is light and smoky, with the alcohol barely noticeable. The palate is very complex, smoky with a malty sweetness, broad on the tongue and sweet again as it settles. The finish is long and smoky, with a pleasant sharpness and sweetness returning.
