This is a 19-year-old single cask Islay single malt from Caol Ila, bottled by the independent bottler DS Tayman at 50.5% abv. It is one half of a pair, and the coastal, peaty whisky is finished in a cask that previously held Tequila. Just 197 bottles have been released.
Fresh agave and tropical sherbet sit alongside the distillery's smoke. The nose offers tropical sherbet, burnt pineapple and soft smoke. On the palate, juicy pineapple layers over gentle barbecue smoke. The finish is long, with tropical fruit, delicate embers and a fresh agave twist.
