This is a single cask Islay malt from Caol Ila, the distillery near Port Askaig, bottled by Berry Bros. & Rudd in its Berrys' Own Selection. The label carries the year 2008.
The nose has light fruit and a gentle sweetness, with earthy smoke, maritime aromas and some phenolic notes. On the palate the fruit and sweetness return, now with more pronounced peat and smoke. The long finish brings kippers, tar and a pleasing smokiness.
