This is a 12 year old Caol Ila single malt from 2009, bottled by Sansibar Whisky. Sansibar is a German independent bottler founded by Jens Drewitz, who began by selecting casks to supply his restaurant, Sansibar.
It is a mouthcoating Islay whisky in which both the spirit and the cask show strongly above a smoky backdrop. It is described as a powerful winter warmer.
