This is a single cask Islay malt from the Caol Ila distillery, which stands near Port Askaig. It was distilled in 2009 and is labelled batch No. 1.
The nose is bright and peaty, with a briny Islay character, soft yellow fruit and green olives. On the palate it builds steadily, with Islay peat smoke alongside banana and melon. The finish is smoky and lingering.
