This Caol Ila was distilled on Islay in 2010 and bottled at 11 years old and 46% by Berry Bros. & Rudd. It is a small batch, married from only a handful of casks chosen by Douglas McIvor, Master Keeper of the Quaich.
The nose starts gently, with icing sugar and light earthy smoke, before coastal peat builds with a muscular, phenolic character. The palate brings peat smoke, damp wool, icing sugar and a little floral note. The finish is coastal and slow to fade, with kippers, tar and more smoke.
