A limited Islay single malt from Caol Ila, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. This Distillers Edition covers the years 2003 to 2015.
The whisky was matured in ex-bourbon casks and then finished in dark Muscatel wine casks, which add dried fruit, raisin, spice and floral notes to the smoky Caol Ila character.
The nose is intensely smoky with sweet dried fruit and raisins. On the palate come peat, toffee, honey and a touch of salt. The finish is long, smoky and fruity, with a slightly medicinal edge.
