A 24 year old Speyside single malt from Caperdonich, distilled in 1980 and bottled by Ad Rattray from a single bourbon cask. It is one of 166 bottles, at 52.7% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
Caperdonich was built in 1898 under the name Glen Grant 2, and the distillery is now closed.
The nose brings yellow and white fruits, apples, white currants and plums, then melon, papaya and a touch of rose-flavoured Turkish delight. The palate is lively and led by orchard fruits, with mirabelle plums, quince and gooseberry, followed by a drizzle of honey and a splash of Earl Grey. The finish is of medium length, with fruity green tea and honey.
