Casey Jones Small Batch is a Kentucky straight bourbon bottled at 52% ABV (104 proof) in a 75cl bottle. The distillery in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, is named after Casey Jones, a Golden Pond moonshiner, and his grandson Arlon 'AJ' Jones carries on the work there.
Casey Jones built square copper pot stills because they were easier to hide and carry on a wagon, and a replica of his square still is used today.
The nose has sweet corn, butterscotch, toasted oak and a hint of dark berries. The palate is full-bodied, with deep caramel, vanilla bean and dark fruit, gentle baking spice and a faint touch of tobacco. The finish is medium to long, with sweet corn and spicy oak.
