Cask Masters Distiller's Cut Benrinnes 12 Year Old (70cl, 55.6%)

This is a 12 year old single cask Benrinnes from the Cask Masters range, bottled by Brave New Spirits in the Distiller's Cut series. It is bottled at 55.6% in a 70cl bottle, from an outturn of 301 bottles. It is non-chill filtered and has no added colour. After its first years of maturation, the whisky rested in an ex-Sauvignon Blanc barrique from France, an unusual wine cask for whisky. The nose shows green apple, white pepper, a tropical note and hot cross buns. The palate has dried fruit, gooseberry and herbal notes, finishing dry. The finish is dry, with lingering tropical tones.
