Cat's Eye Distillery Obtainium 7 Year Light Whiskey

Obtainium is a seven-year-old light whiskey from Cat's Eye Distillery, made from stock sourced from MGP in Indiana. Light whiskey as a style dates from 1968, when drinkers were moving away from bourbon towards clear spirits such as vodka and gin. It is distilled at 160 to 190 proof, higher than bourbon or American rye, which top out at 160 proof, and it must be aged in used charred oak barrels or new uncharred oak. Most distilleries did not age it for long, and the style later fell out of favour.
