Catoctin Creek – Barrel Select Black Friday Barrels Virginia Rye Whisky (75cl, 46%)

This is a Virginia rye whisky from the Catoctin Creek distillery in Purcellville, a limited edition in the Barrel Select range. It is made entirely from local rye, which is processed at the distillery and distilled in copper pot stills. The whisky was matured in used oak casks that previously belonged to Crooked Run Fermentation, a brewery in Minnesota. It is bottled at 46% in a 75cl bottle. The nose and palate are spicy and varied, with notes of grain, butterscotch and spice.
