Catoctin Creek – Roundstone Rye Cask Proof Edition (70cl, 58%)

Roundstone Rye Cask Proof Edition is a cask strength rye from Catoctin Creek, bottled at 58% in a 70cl bottle. The distillery in Purcellville, Virginia, uses only local Virginia rye, which is mashed and fermented on site and distilled in copper pot stills. The whiskey matures in new charred Virginia oak and is bottled from selected casks without chill filtration or added colour. The nose brings orange and dry rye grain with honey, spice and a trace of black pepper. On the palate it is full and powerful, with plum and orange first, then leather, honey and spice. The finish is long, peppery and fresh, with leather.
