Catoctin Creek – Roundstone Rye Single Barrel (40%)

Roundstone Rye is a single barrel rye whisky from the Catoctin Creek distillery in Purcellville, Virginia, bottled at 40%. It is made in the pre-Prohibition style from 100% rye, sourced from the region when available, and is mashed, fermented, distilled and matured at the distillery. The whisky spends about two years in new, charred white oak barrels. It is soft and woody, with the full-bodied, fruity and nutty grain character associated with Virginia rye. On the nose it offers caramel, rich buttery toffee and a hint of lemon.
