Château Villefranche 2010 is a botrytised sweet white wine from the Sauternes appellation in Bordeaux, made by Henri Guinabert et Fils. It is bottled at 13.5% in a 75cl bottle. The blend is 90% Sémillon, with 5% Muscadelle and 5% Sauvignon Blanc, and the wine is aged in wood. The botrytis character is lighter than in many Sauternes, which leaves the fruit and a touch of wood spice at the front. The nose shows ripe yellow fruit, quince, candied tropical fruit and honey, with vanilla beneath. The palate is lush and honeyed, with apricot and tropical fruit, lifted by lemon acidity. The finish is long and crisp, with honey, vanilla and citrus peel.
