Umeshu barrel
A single cask Japanese single malt from Chichibu, distilled in 2018 and bottled in 2026 at seven years old. It matured in an umeshu barrel, which previously held Japanese plum liqueur, and 256 bottles were drawn from it. The distillery created the edition for the Shibazakura Flower Festival, which celebrates spring in Chichibu. The whisky is made from Concerto barley, and the plum liqueur cask brings orchard and exotic fruit aromas. The nose is green apple, muscat grape, honey and cinnamon, with touches of pineapple and mint. The palate shows lychee, plum and guava with bright citrus and a herbaceous note. The finish is clean and balanced.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
