This is the 2021 Paris Edition of Chichibu's Ichiro's Malt, a Japanese single malt released in a run of 1,847 bottles. It was made from several barley varieties, including Concerto, Peated Concerto and Venture, and distilled between 2013 and 2015 at the Chichibu distillery in Saitama Prefecture.
The character is herbaceous and fresh, with juicy fruit aromas and elegant spices. A peated side with notes of camphor gives it a medicinal edge, reminiscent of some Scottish peat, while it stays distinctly Japanese. It comes in a 70cl bottle.
