Chicken Cock Double Oak 10 Year Kentucky Whiskey (75cl, 46%)

Chicken Cock Double Oak is a 10 year old Kentucky whiskey with a traditional bourbon mash bill, bottled at 46% in a 75cl bottle. A barrel shortage in 2014 shaped its maturation. The whiskey spent its first seven years in used bourbon barrels, then moved into new, Level 4 alligator-charred American white oak barrels for a further 18 months. It comes in an apothecary-style decanter. The nose is dark chocolate-covered berries, toasted coconut and sweet caramel coffee. On the palate are vanilla bean, waffle cone, steeped dark berries and warm baking spices, in a smooth, full-bodied texture. The finish is medium-long, with crème brûlée and cinnamon flan.
