Clan Colla 9 Year Old Bordeaux Finish (70cl, 46%)

Clan Colla 9 Year Old is a blended Irish whiskey that combines malt and grain whiskeys, bottled at 46% without chill-filtering or added colouring. The components were first matured in ex-bourbon casks of American oak, then finished in French Bordeaux red wine casks. It is the first Bordeaux finish in the Family Bond Series from Ahascragh Distillery, which selects whiskeys from other Irish distilleries, matures and blends them, and bottles in the west of Ireland. None of the whiskey in this bottle was distilled at Ahascragh. The nose is sweet toffee and brown sugar with a touch of dark fruit. The palate opens peppery before turning creamy and fruity, and the long finish keeps woody spice and soft vanilla.
