Cley – Dutch Single Malt Whisky Canasta Sherry Cask (48%)

This is a Dutch single malt from the Cley distillery on the Kleiweg in Rotterdam, which uses only organic ingredients from the region. It is made from 100% malted barley and distilled three times in a copper pot. The whisky spent three years in first-fill ex-bourbon casks, then a second maturation in small casks that previously held Canasta sherry. It is bottled at 48%. The character is deep, spicy and warm, with sherry sweetness. On the palate come raisins, dried fruit, orange peel, black cherries, almonds and vanilla. The finish is warm and spicy, with vanilla, toffee and raisins.
