Cley – Dutch Single Malt Whisky Manzanilla Cask Finish (48%)

A single malt from the Cley Distillery in Rotterdam, made from 100% malted barley and distilled three times in a copper pot. The distillery uses organic grain from the region. It matured for three years in first-fill ex-bourbon casks, then went into small casks that previously held Manzanilla sherry for a second maturation. It is bottled at 48% ABV and is described as fresh, floral and elegant, with a subtle saltiness. The palate runs from nuts, green apple and sea breeze to chamomile, mint, pepper, floral honey, lemon, orange, dried fruit, caramel, coconut, roasted mushrooms and vanilla. The finish is fresh and salty, with floral honey.
