Clonakilty – Single Cask Cask Strength Moscatel Cask Finish (70cl, 58.1%)

This is a single cask Irish whiskey from Clonakilty in County Cork, bottled at cask strength, 58.1% vol. It is the distillery's first cask strength release to use its single pot still whiskey, and it was triple distilled. The whiskey began in ex-bourbon barrels and was finished in Moscatel casks. Clonakilty reduces its spirit gradually with spring water, which it calls a gentle cut. This edition comes from one cask and was filled into 230 bottles. The nose offers tangerine, vanilla and clove. On the palate there is orange peel with ripe stone fruits, and the finish brings toffee, coffee and dark chocolate.
