Clynelish – 12 Year Old James Eadie (70cl, 52.5%)

This is a 12-year-old Clynelish from the Highlands, released in a small batch by the independent bottler James Eadie. It matured in two re-charred hogsheads and was bottled in 2026 at 52.5%, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. 496 bottles were produced. The label artwork pays homage to The Distilleries of Great Britain and Ireland, a series of works from the 1920s that were largely forgotten for a century until the James Eadie team found them and had them reprinted. The nose is candle wax, sea salt, toffee and custard, with threshed barley and stewed apples. The palate is waxy, chewy and thick, with toffee and honeycomb, then barley wine, mango and golden syrup. The finish is ripe mango and tart physalis.
