Clynelish 18 Year Old is a Highland single malt distilled on 28 June 1996 and matured in a sherry butt. It was bottled by First Cask at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle, number 461 from cask 6515.
Straw in colour, it has a nose of citrons and oranges over candle wax, with soot, ink, fresh almonds and touches of hessian and menthol. On the palate come lemon, a little salt, soot, wax, earth and cider apples. The finish is long and tense, leaving roots, salt and earth on the tongue.
