Clynelish – Natural Cask Strength (57.3%)

This is a Clynelish single malt bottled at a cask strength of 57.3%, a vatting put together as a distillery-only release. It is pale in the glass, the colour of white wine. The nose is clean, with wax, pine resin and flinty, mineral lime notes, later turning to cardamom, lemon balm and oysters. The palate brings pineapple sweets, vanilla, a little coconut and a touch of salt. With water it becomes more herbal and waxy, with tea and clams. The finish is long, saltier and maritime.
