Clynelish 12 Year Old is a 2022 Special Release single malt from the Highlands, bottled at 58.5% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Finishing casks have added sweetness and spice, and only a slight trace of the distillery's waxiness remains.
The colour is bright gold. The nose is creamy, with fruity mincemeat, tinned pears, heather honey and herbal notes over spicy oak. Water adds a waxy hint. The palate is smooth and wine-sweet, balanced by peppery, oaky spice. The finish is quite long, chilli-spiced and drying, with lingering pepper.
