Clynelish 14 Year Old is a Highland single malt from the Clynelish distillery in Brora, on the northern Highland coast. It is matured for 14 years in American oak ex-bourbon casks and bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill filtered, in a 750ml bottle.
The distillery is known for a waxy character, described as beeswax, candle wax or coastal oil. Clynelish is also the heart malt of Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve.
The nose is floral and coastal, with beeswax, heather, lemon zest and stone fruit. The palate is medium-bodied, with honeyed barley, light citrus, coastal brine and dried fruit. The finish is long, light and dry, with lingering wax.
