Clynelish 12 Year Old The Wildcat's Golden Gaze is a Highland single malt in the Diageo Special Release 2022. It draws on the Scottish wildcat, the symbol displayed at the distillery.
An extended secondary maturation in Pedro Ximenez and Oloroso casks brings a spicier side to the distillery's fruity notes and waxy texture, with a velvety body, wine-like sweetness and a burst of peppery spice.
The nose has fruity mincemeat, tinned pears and heather honey over herbal notes and oak spice. The palate is rich and wine-sweet with peppery oak, and the finish is quite long, chilli-spiced and drying.
