This is a single cask Clynelish, distilled on 21 November 1995 and matured for 22 years in a refill sherry butt. It was bottled for Signatory Vintage on 16 October 2018 at a cask strength of 54.2% ABV, with an outturn of 602 bottles.
The sherry butt shapes the whisky. The nose combines sherry aromas with raspberry, sour cherry, café au lait, espresso and a little cocoa, with oak building slowly over time.
The palate shows classic oloroso notes, ginger tea, mint chocolate, caramel, orange and dried dates and apricots. The finish is long and sweet, with candied orange peel and honey, before drying into oak.
