A limited edition Clynelish from the Highlands, distilled in 1972 and bottled in 1995 at 22 years old. It is bottled at a cask strength of 58.95% in a 75cl bottle and belongs to the Rare Malts Selection, which Diageo released between 1995 and 2005.
This official bottling was made for the American market.
The nose begins with cake, pastries and praline, followed by beeswax, paraffin and incense, then smoke, resin and tropical fruit. The palate shows bitter orange, wax, smoked tea and butterscotch, with some tannin at the back of the tongue. The finish is very long, waxy, orangey and resinous.
