Clynelish – 24 Year Old 1972 Rare Malts Selection (70cl, 61.3%)

This is a Highland single malt from Clynelish, distilled in 1972 and bottled in 1997 after 24 years of maturation. It was released as part of Diageo's Rare Malts series at a natural cask strength of 61.3% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. The whisky is light gold in colour. The nose is waxy, likened to opening a beehive, with light honey. On the palate it is extremely waxy, with honeyed notes and flower jams, and it drinks easily despite the high strength.
