Clynelish – Special Release 2025 18 Years (70cl, 51.6%)

This is the 2025 Special Release from Clynelish, an 18-year-old single malt bottled at 51.6% in a 70cl bottle. It matured for at least 18 years in refill casks. The expression is known as Waxen Sun. Part of the spirit was taken off early in distillation, at the point when tropical flavours dominate, as a deliberate experiment. This gives the whisky a sweet, tropical liveliness. The texture is creamy and soft, recalling the waxy character Clynelish is known for. It starts lightly sweet and a little sharp, with tropical fruit, then turns balanced and lively, with notable power and warm spice later on.
