Colombo Marsala Fine Dry (75cl, 18%)

Colombo Marsala Fine Dry is a dry fortified wine from the Marsala DOC in Trapani, western Sicily, made by Baglio Curatolo Arini. It is bottled at 18% ABV, the strength of a Superiore, in a 75cl bottle. The blend uses the Catarratto, Grillo and Inzolia grapes. It matures for over two years in Slavonian oak barrels, and 10% of the final blend is Marsala Superiore Dry aged for at least four years. The nose offers toasted almond, dried fig, warm vanilla and a faint herbal note. The palate is dry and full-bodied, with raisin, almond, dried fig and vanilla. The finish is medium to long, with toasted nuts, dried fruit and a thread of herbal bitterness.
