Compagnie des Indes Guyana Diamond 2010 8 Year Old Rum (70cl, 43%)

This is a single cask Guyana rum from Diamond Distillers Limited, distilled in 2010 from molasses in the Port Mourant still and aged for eight years. It was bottled at 43% vol. in a 700 ml bottle and limited to 388 bottles worldwide. The nose shows subtle sweet almond and frangipane cream, with floral notes and a hint of toasted bread. The palate opens with spice, then almond, sugar cane and caramel, moving into tart fruit notes of mango and papaya. The finish is balanced, with fruit brandy, slight bitterness and woody notes, plus toasted bread.
